Pre-Planning

Many individuals and families choose to pre-plan their funeral.

Peace of mind for many is in the knowledge that key wishes have been recorded, giving family members clarity and direction during an often difficult time.

Some people choose to fully plan and pay for their arrangements in advance. Reflections’ pre-paid funds are lodged in a secure trust fund which can only be drawn upon with the production of a death certificate.

We are available to meet with you, in our offices or at your home to discuss pre-planning options.

Costs

Funeral Costs

The overall cost of a funeral depends on various factors. We will guide you regarding costs and expenses, and always provide an estimate when making arrangements.

We are transparent about the fees we charge and the expenses that are incurred when we provide care.

A deposit prior to the service is required. The final account will be generated after the funeral and sent to the person responsible for the making the arrangements.

Our funeral account is made up of the following:

Reflections Professional Service Fee:

All funeral homes operate differently. When looking at the Professional Service Fee, it’s important to establish what is and is not included in the Fee. For instance many will charge their Professional Fee and then add on charges such as the local transfer from the place of death, embalming fee, and Hearse Hire. When combined these fee’s add up considerably.

Our fee includes, but is not limited to some or all of the following:

  • Personal attendance to receive instructions
  • Arranging the funeral as instructed
  • Directing the funeral
  • Transferring the deceased into our care
  • Clinical Care (including embalming as necessary)
  • Liaising with the celebrant or minister, florist, musicians, Church or venue
  • Arranging catering and caterers
  • Liaising with the doctor or coroner regarding certificates as necessary
  • Preparing and placing newspaper notices
  • Booking the cemetery or crematorium
  • Use of our hearse for the service
  • Use of our facilities

Our Professional Fee covers our availability to you 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and the overhead costs associated with the operation of the funeral home.

The Casket

We have a large range of caskets available. Our prices range from $690 to several thousand dollars.

 Other Expenses:

These are expenses paid by Reflections on behalf of the family.

Items may include flowers, catering, venue hire, the Minister or Celebrants Fee, audio visual and graphic design costs, newspaper notices, service sheets, cremation fees, doctor’s certificates and Death Certificates, for example.
